Sainik School Kunjpura was visited by Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, Chandimandir on 29 January 2026.

The General Officer was received with due decorum by Maj Gen Prince Duggal, GOC, PH & HP (I) Sub Area, & LBA Chairman, Captain (IN) Gurbir Singh, Principal, Sainik School Kunjpura and Wing Commander Soniya Sharma, Administrative Officer. Following his arrival, Lt Gen Katiyar was briefed by the Principal about the school's achievements, infrastructure development and ongoing initiatives aimed at holistic cadet training.

The highlight of the visit was the inauguration of the newly constructed 80 bedded Girls' Hostel, a significant milestone in the school's continued commitment to expanding opportunities and ensuring quality residential facilities for girl cadets. The state-of-the- art hostel is equipped with modern amenities designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and conducive environment for learning and growth.

Later, the General Officer addressed the staff and cadets in the School Auditorium. In his address, he appreciated the school's role in shaping disciplined, confident, and capable young leaders and encouraged the cadets to strive for excellence in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities. He also motivated staff & cadets to
achieve academic excellence through continued efforts. He also visited Hostel facilities and Cadets' Mess.

The visit concluded on a note of pride and motivation for the entire school community, marking an important chapter in the institution's journey toward greater inclusivity and excellence.
